Every organization engaged in good works deserves a mission statement that sets forth the reason for its existence and states what its ongoing purpose is to be. RCP Foundation has a defining mission, which is simply stated as follows:

“Our mission is to improve the lives and future prospects of our fellow human beings through the generous practice of philanthropy, and to aid and support those individuals and organizations whose works and achievements have the greatest potential to directly benefit society’s future.”

To elaborate a bit further: The Founding Trustees want to do all that they can to help those who will ultimately, themselves, help society in terms of promoting and enabling peace, prosperity, and service to humankind. They understand that this is a vast undertaking, with more than a few complexities and barriers to success, but with the help of Qualified Donors and Partners In Giving, great strides are achievable.

And since working for the benefit of society is not usually the stuff of instant gratification, our Trustees take a long-term view of investing in future potential, and of leveraging seemingly small achievements into bigger and greater accomplishments.

By way of example, an investment in educating a single bright, young, and eager mind can create a future leader, innovator, executive, or professional who may, in turn, change the lives or many, and maybe even favorably change the course of human events. Similarly, an investment in building a school, a hospital, or a community center can also have far-reaching and highly favorable possibilities.

Change does not always happen in great strides and leaps – more often, it happens incrementally. Some of history’s most laudable successes have had very humble or even improbable beginnings.

Through its existence, RCP Foundation has been taking small but significant steps… but always with the future in mind.
